Norwich City striker Grant Holt believes that his goalscoring record this season should stand him in good stead for an England call-up.
The 30-year-old has scored 14 goals in 28 games for the Canaries this season, and Holt has insisted that he can force his way into the squad for Euro 2012.
"I would hope that it doesn't matter who you play for, you get the same opportunity to go and play for your country. You can see that in the past with Steve Bull at Wolves and David Nugent at Preston," Holt told talkSPORT.
"If I can keep doing what I'm doing, and that's performing for Norwich, then we'll wait and see. Hopefully people will start looking at me. If they want to take a target man then I'm ready to go.
"It's always been a dream to play for my country and if that ever came about it would be absolutely fantastic. Whoever gets the job, I just hope they recognise I'm scoring goals."
Holt joined Norwich from Shrewsbury Town in 2009.
