Nwankwo Kanu: 'Nigeria can beat Bosnia-Herzegovina, Argentina'

Nigeria legend Nwankwo Kanu believes that his former side can defeat both Bosnia-Herzegovina and Nigeria to qualify for the last 16 of the World Cup.

Nigeria legend Nwankwo Kanu has insisted that it is too early for anyone to write off his national team's chances of progressing in the World Cup.

The Super Eagles were criticised after slumping to a 0-0 draw with Iran on Monday evening, but the former Arsenal and Portsmouth attacker believes that Nigeria have the quality to beat Bosnia-Herzegovina and Argentina in their remaining group games.

The 37-year-old is quoted by AllAfrica.com as saying: "We can beat any team. We can beat Bosnia and we can also beat Argentina, but to achieve this, we must work hard.

"It's too early to write off Nigeria's chances. It's just our first game and we now have to move forward. We have to learn from it, draw from the positives and move on."

Kanu, who twice won the African Player of the Year award, represented Nigeria on 87 occasions between 1994 and 2011.
