Wigan Athletic's Connor Sammon wins his appeal over the red card he was shown for violent conduct at Manchester United on Boxing Day.
Connor Sammon has had his red card from the defeat at Manchester United on Boxing Day rescinded by the Football Association.
The Wigan Athletic forward was penalised for a flailing arm that struck Michael Carrick but replays have shown that the decision by Phil Dowd was harsh.
Sammon, 25, will now be available for selection as Roberto Martinez's men travel to Stoke City for their final game of 2011 on Saturday.
