Billy Davies: 'Nottingham Forest will improve'

Billy Davies insists that there is more to come from his Nottingham Forest side despite an opening-day win.

Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies has insisted that his side will improve following their narrow 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon.

Davies said that his players were lacking in fitness during the win but was pleased overall with his side, particularly in defence.

"There is work to do, we still need to work on our fitness, but the most important thing is that we picked up three points," PA quotes Davies as saying.

"Some of the players still need another week of training, we have partnerships to work on and fitness to work on. That will take a few weeks.

"Our new signings also still need to get to know each other and that will take many games. We need to find a balance and a consistency. It takes time to develop a team and build a club."

Henri Lansbury scored in the second half to hand Forest the points.
