Bordeaux striker Yoan Gouffran has reportedly touched down in the North East to undergo a medical ahead of a switch to Newcastle United.
The Magpies, who are raiding Ligue 1 for fresh talent, have been heavily linked with a move for the 26-year-old, who announced via his Twitter page yesterday that he will sign for the Premier League outfit.
It is understood that Gouffran is edging nearer to finalising his switch by completing a medical today, according to Sky Sports News.
Meanwhile, Newcastle are also thought to be closing in on Nancy defender Massadio Haidara.
