Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew: 'Hull City comeback changed everything'

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew credits his side's good form for their comeback against Hull City.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew believes that his side's comeback in their 2-2 draw with Hull City was the turning point in their season.

The Magpies have gone on to defeat Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur in the league, as well as knock Manchester City out of the Capital One Cup, since Papiss Cisse's late double rescued a point against Steve Bruce's side.

Pardew said that his team's fightback gave them a much-needed boost, and he is hoping this new-found confidence will serve them well this weekend against Liverpool.

"That would have been a really tough result but Papiss getting those two goals and coming back to fitness probably gave us that boost we needed," he told reporters.

"I think we've taken that into all the games since and we've got a good points total out of that. We want to improve on our position by beating Liverpool, which is always a tough game and a great fixture.

"It has a certain romance to it and I think it's going to make for a cracking game on Saturday."

Newcastle head into this weekend's meeting with Liverpool looking to make it four wins on the spin in all competitions.
