John Carver wants another chance in MLS

Ex-Newcastle United and Toronto boss John Carver reveals that he would like another crack at managing in MLS.

Former Newcastle United and Toronto FC head coach John Carver has revealed that he is keen to make a return to MLS.

The 50-year-old, who left Newcastle in the summer, managed Toronto between 2008 and 2009, winning 11 of his 36 games in charge before leaving for personal reasons.

Carver has stated that he regularly monitors MLS matches and is ready to coach again in the United States or Canada.

"I want to go somewhere where I can build something," Carver told Goal.com. "I'm probably a lot more placid and calmer than I used to be.

"I don't take things as personally after the five months I've gone through with Newcastle. I just see how it's developed. I keep a close eye on MLS. I watch all the games. I even watch the games on Y Scout, the scouting tool.

"I know more than people might think I would about the league. If an opportunity came around again, I'd love to go back into it and make a go of it. There's no reason for me not to stay and develop a career in MLS."

Carver has also managed Sheffield United and Leeds United in caretaker spells.
