Netherlands manager Louis van Gaal has claimed that his side "lost the plot" after falling behind in their international friendly with France on Wednesday.
A run of 18 matches without defeat came to an end for Van Gaal's side as France took advantage of a poor display from the visitors to secure a 2-0 victory in Paris.
"For 25 minutes we were the better team, but after the goal we lost the plot," Van Gaal told journalists after the game.
"France have a very good team, but I don't think we should have lost. We lost the ball too many times in midfield.
"In the second half we still created a few chances, at least more than in the first-half, but by then it was already too late."
Van Gaal's team will face Spain, Chile and Australia in Group B of the World Cup in the summer.
