Former West Ham United midfielder Valon Behrami has joined Bundesliga side Hamburger SV on a three-year deal after leaving Napoli for an undisclosed fee.
The 29-year-old had spent two years in Italy, and was part of Rafa Benitez's Napoli side that lifted the Coppa Italia last season.
"Hamburg is a new experience for me and a great club. It is a very important moment in my career," Behrami said on Hamburg's official website.
"After the World Cup I had about three weeks of vacation, so I've trained just seven days with the team. I must begin work on my fitness, but I'm here now. I need a little more time, but we have that time, so that is okay."
Hamburg endured a difficult 2013-14 season, only avoiding the drop by virtue of an away-goals victory in their relegation playoff against SpVgg Greuther Furth.
