Millwall defender Danny Shittu out for season

Millwall announce that defender Danny Shittu will miss the rest of the season with an Achilles problem.

Millwall defender Danny Shittu has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an Achilles injury.

The 33-year-old centre-back picked up the injury in the 1-0 win over Derby County earlier this month.

"Danny will effectively be ruled out for the rest of the season," said Millwall physio Bobby Bacic on the club website.

"There are only just over six weeks of the season left and by the time Danny is due to recover from his achilles injury he will be short of match fitness."

Shittu has made 23 appearances for the Lions this season, scoring one goal.
