Newly-promoted Middlesbrough have made an enquiry about Norwich City defender Ryan Bennett.
Boro ended their seven-year absence from the top flight of English football by winning automatic promotion from the Championship last season, and have already made moves to strengthen their squad by bringing Viktor Fischer to the Riverside Stadium.
They have now enquired as to the availability of Bennett too after the 26-year-old was unable to prevent Norwich from being relegated from the Premier League last season.
Bennett, who made 26 appearances for the Canaries, is also reportedly wanted by fellow Premier League new-boys Hull City and Scottish champions Celtic.
However, Norwich are understood to be eager to keep hold of the defender, who moved to Carrow Road from Peterborough United in 2012.
