Juan Carlos Osorio has been named as the new coach of the Mexico national team.
The Colombian's appointment was confirmed by his current employers Sao Paulo, who have issued an official statement about the switch.
"I received Mr Juan Carlos Osorio here in my office today, who confirmed that he is leaving our club to manage Mexico in the World Cup qualifiers, a long-time desire of his," said Sao Paulo president Carlos Miguel Aidar on the club's website.
"I am deeply saddened by the decision as he had been doing great work."
Osorio will take the reins from Mexico's interim coach Ricardo Ferretti, who took the helm following the departure of Miguel Herrera in July.
