Manchester United are reportedly ready to join the race to sign Bodo/Glimt youngster Hakon Evjen.
The 19-year-old has established himself as one of the most highly-regarded prospects in Norway's top flight this season, contributing nine goals in just 19 outings.
That return has allegedly led to Manchester City expressing an interest in the right-sided midfielder, but the Daily Mail claims that United are ready to rival their neighbours.
While Daniel James has impressed in that area of the pitch during the opening weeks of the campaign, United find themselves short of natural options on that flank.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may also feel that he will be able to convince his compatriot to make the switch to Old Trafford over the Etihad Stadium, as well as being able to offer more first-team action.
