Man United are reportedly close to a agreeing the €12m transfer of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Shinji Kagawa.

Manchester United are reportedly close to finalising the transfer of highly-rated Japanese midfielder Shinji Kagawa.

The Red Devils have been persistently linked with a move for the 23-year-old, who has helped Borussia Dortmund to consecutive Bundesliga titles.

Sir Alex Ferguson seems to have missed out on primary target Eden Hazard, who appears to have chosen Chelsea ahead of the Manchester duo.

Therefore his attention has switched to securing a deal for Kagawa, who is nearing a €15m (£12m) switch to Old Trafford, according to German football magazine Kicker.

Kagawa has netted 21 times in 49 league appearances for Dortmund.
