Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag is clashing with the Glazers over the plans for the summer transfer window, according to a report.

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag could reportedly be left frustrated at the end of this summer's transfer window, with the Dutchman clashing with the club's current owners over transfers.

Ten Hag had a successful first season at the helm, securing the EFL Cup at the end of February, in addition to leading the team to a top-four finish in the Premier League table.

The return to the Champions League for the 2023-24 campaign has handed the club a huge financial boost, but Ten Hag still does not know how much money there will be to spend this summer, with the Glazers in talks over a sale of the club.

Any takeover is not imminent, though, meaning that the Glazer family are set to have a key role in the upcoming transfer window despite potentially then leaving soon after.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is still believed to be the favourite to purchase the Red Devils, but Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani has now allegedly made a new offer for the club.

Ten Hag wants a new number nine, with Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane still said to be the leading target in the final third of the field despite the issues when it comes to moving for the England captain.

Meanwhile, Chelsea's Mason Mount is reportedly wanted in midfield, and Napoli's Kim Min-jae is said to be the leading target in central defence.

According to The Athletic, though, Ten Hag's plans for the summer transfer window could be hampered by the takeover situation, which is showing no signs of coming to an end.

The report claims that the Glazers are unlikely to sanction multiple big-money additions, which could make it a frustrating window for the Man United head coach.

Man United are believed to be confident of signing Mount this summer, but the Red Devils are said to be some way short of Chelsea's valuation, which is in the region of £70m.

A deal for Min-jae, who could replace Harry Maguire, is likely to be more straightforward due to a release clause that allegedly exists in his contract with Napoli.

However, Tottenham are said to be reluctant to sanction a summer for Kane, which could lead to the 20-time English champions switching their focus elsewhere when it comes to a forward addition.

Atalanta BC's Rasmus Hojlund is also said to be admired, while Eintracht Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani and Benfica's Goncalo Ramos have been linked with switches to Old Trafford.

Ten Hag is believed to want the majority of the club's summer business completed before their pre-season tour of the United States next month.
