Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly contemplating whether to make a bid for Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper Yann Sommer.
Antonio Conte is currently well stocked for options between the sticks, helped by Hugo Lloris having recently penned a new deal.
Furthermore, Conte gave the green light to the signing of former Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster on a free transfer during the latest transfer window.
However, the two stoppers are 35 and 34 years of age respectively, and the longevity of either player is uncertain at this stage of their respective careers.
While Spurs have Brandon Austin as their third-choice, the American is yet to make an appearance in the first team, his most recent senior experience coming on loan at MLS side Orlando City.

According to journalist Dean Jones on Givemesport, Spurs hold an interest in acquiring the services of Sommer in the future.
Despite entering his ninth season at Monchengladbach, Sommer has regularly been on the radar of some of the top clubs in European football courtesy of his performances for Switzerland.
The 34-year-old recently moved to 80 caps with his country, making three appearances at the World Cup as his nation reached the last 16 in Qatar.
As it stands, Sommer's contract with his German team is due to expire at the end of the season, while he can also hold discussions with foreign clubs from January 1.

While the possibility remains that Sommer will continue to ply his trade with Monchengladbach, the veteran stopper will likely receive a wide range of offers for his signature.
Earlier this month, it was suggested that Manchester United were ready to launch a bid for Sommer due to the uncertainty over the future of David de Gea.
Although United can activate a 12-month option in the contract of the long-serving Spaniard, it has been claimed that they may opt against doing so due to his current earnings at Old Trafford.
Despite being linked with other high-profile names, signing a proven goalkeeper on a free transfer may prove to be an attractive option during a period where United may be sold or attract new investors.
