Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez will reportedly remain at the club during the January transfer window despite speculation that he is eager to join Paris Saint-Germain.

Reports last week suggested that the Chilean is pining for an exit from Old Trafford just a year after joining the 20-time champions, with Ligue 1 leaders PSG understood to be his preferred destination.

However, The Telegraph reports that PSG have decided against making a move for Sanchez in order to focus on younger signings when the transfer window reopens.

It is thought that Sanchez's financial demands played a part in PSG's decision, with the 29-year-old currently on a £500,000-a-week contract at United.

The Red Devils were open to the idea of selling Sanchez in January in order to ease their wage bill, having seen the former Arsenal man struggle to settle at the club, scoring just four goals in 29 appearances and losing his place in the team under Jose Mourinho this season.

However, the report claims that United are now resigned to keeping Sanchez until at least next summer.
