Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed that the Glazer family do not care about the club.

The Glazer, who bought Man United in 2005, have been widely criticised and faced protests from fans over their ownership of the 20-time English champions.

In an interview with Piers Morgan for Talk TV, Ronaldo criticised the Glazers, accusing them of not caring about Man United.

The 37-year-old said: "The Glazers, they don't — they don't care about, about the club. I mean, professional sport.

"As you know this, Manchester is a marketing club. They will get its money from the marketing, the sport, it's... they don't really care, in my opinion."

When asked if he ever spoke to the Glazers, Ronaldo replied: "Never. No. They give all the power to the president, sporting director.

"The fans, they're always right. I think the fans should know the truth — should know that the players, we want the best for the club. I want the best for the club. This is why I am coming to Manchester United. This is why I love this club.

"You have some things inside the club which don't help Manchester reach the top level as City, Liverpool and even now Arsenal, for example.

"It's hard in my opinion. It will be hard for Manchester to be in the top of the game, the next two, three years."

While United have stated they will wait for the "full facts" before issuing a response to the interview, Ronaldo is currently preparing to represent Portugal at the World Cup.
