Goalkeeper Sergio Romero has reportedly held discussions with club officials regarding his future at Manchester United.
With Dean Henderson being promoted to second choice behind David de Gea, the Argentine is keen to secure a transfer away from Old Trafford.
However, United would not give the green light to an exit before the end of the summer transfer window, leaving the Argentine in limbo with regards to playing time.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the 33-year-old and his agent have spoken with the United hierarchy in recent days.
While Romero is open to a switch to the MLS, the transfer window for that league closes later this week.
There appears little prospect of the experienced stopper extending his contract at United past the end of this season.
