Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney is ready to hand in a transfer request to force a move to Chelsea, according to a report.
The England international is reportedly unsettled at United for playing second fiddle to striker Robin van Persie and is prepared to end his nine-year career at Old Trafford.
Rooney will force the Red Devils into selling him to the Blues by handing in a transfer request as he hopes that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will return for his signature this summer, reports The Times.
United boss David Moyes wants Rooney to stay at the club but the issue could been taken out of his hands by the 27-year-old.
Rooney scored 16 goals in all competitions for the Red Devils last season as they won the Premier League.
