Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane has reportedly been granted permission to speak to Manchester United as the Red Devils continue to press for a summer transfer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are thought to be edging closer to the signing of Varane, who would be the club's long-term partner for Harry Maguire.
The Frenchman is currently on holiday with his family following France's Euro 2020 exit, but he supposedly has his heart set on a move to United and wants to fly straight to Manchester instead of joining Real Madrid's pre-season training.
According to Sky Sports News, Los Blancos have given Man United the green light to discuss personal terms with Varane, and negotiations between player and club are currently underway.
The report adds that Real Madrid and Man United will begin discussions over a fee if an agreement over personal terms is reached swiftly, but Paris Saint-Germain are also preparing an approach.
Varane now has less than 12 months to run on his Real Madrid contract, and he has scored 17 goals in 360 appearances for the Spanish giants over the last 10 years.
