Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Nemanja Matic has signed a new contract.
The 31-year-old's deal at Old Trafford was due to expire at the end of the season, meaning that he was free to discuss terms with foreign clubs ahead of a potential move this summer.
However, United's head coach has revealed that Matic will be staying with the club for the 2020-21 campaign having agreed an extension with the Serbia international.
"He will stay here. Yeah, 100%. We have agreed with him so he will stay," Solskjaer told reporters.
Matic struggled for action in the early stages of the 2019-20 campaign but has been a key player in recent months with Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay both having spells out injured.
The former Chelsea midfielder has started eight of United's last nine Premier League matches, only missing out against Wolverhampton Wanderers last month through suspension.
