Manchester United are reportedly closing monitoring Toni Kroos's situation at Real Madrid amid claims that the midfielder is open to leaving Bernabeu this summer.
The 32-year-old was again a key player for Los Blancos during the 2021-22 campaign, making 44 appearances in all competitions, contributing three goals and three assists in the process.
The midfielder's contract at Bernabeu is due to expire next June, though, and according to SER Deportivos, he is not currently interested in signing an extension.
The report claims that Kroos 'does not want to become a burden' to the club, which could see him push for a move away from the Spanish capital during this summer's transfer window.
Man United have allegedly been alerted to the developments, with the 20-time English champions open to signing two new central midfielders in the current market.

The Red Devils are believed to have been close to signing Kroos from Bayern Munich in 2014, but the former Germany international ultimately made the move to Real Madrid.
The midfielder has made 365 appearances for Los Blancos in all competitions, winning three La Liga titles and four Champions League crowns during a highly-successful period.
Kroos will be 33 early next year, though, and Carlo Ancelotti's side are well-stocked in central midfield, with Federico Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga impressing alongside Luka Modric and Casemiro, while Aurelien Tchouameni has arrived this summer from Monaco.
As a result, Real Madrid could be open to selling Kroos this summer rather than risk losing him on a free transfer ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.

Man United continue to make progress in their negotiations with Barcelona over Frenkie de Jong, with the two clubs expected to reach an agreement in the coming weeks.
However, both Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba have left the club this summer, so two new midfielders, rather than one, could be added to the squad for the 2022-23 campaign.
Man United are also allegedly on the verge of securing a deal for Ajax attacker Antony, with the Brazilian potentially moving to Old Trafford in a £40m deal.
New head coach Erik ten Hag is also believed to want a centre-back and a centre-forward, while a new goalkeeper is likely to arrive if Dean Henderson moves on amid interest from Nottingham Forest.
The Red Devils will be back in pre-season training before the end of the month, although the players involved for their countries over the recent international break will not return until July.
