Manchester United are allegedly left surprised by claims that Birmingham City youngster could move to Borussia Dortmund during the next transfer window.

Manchester United reportedly have little intention of giving up in their pursuit of Birmingham City youngster Jude Bellingham.

Earlier this year, Bellingham was invited to take a tour of United's training facilities ahead of a potential switch to Old Trafford during the next transfer window.

However, having been regarded as United's biggest rivals for the 16-year-old's signature, Borussia Dortmund are allegedly closing in on a deal for the prospect.

According to ESPN, the latest claims have surprised United officials, who remain eager to edge out the German outfit for the midfielder.

With just one year left on his contract, Bellingham is almost certain to leave St Andrew's in the coming months, potentially for a fee in the region of £30m.

Despite his age, Bellingham has made 35 appearances in all competitions since being handed his debut in August.
