Manchester United have reportedly signalled their intent to rival Chelsea in the race to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal.
Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte is said to be keen on a reunion with the Chilean international, with whom the Italian worked during his time at Juventus.
Vidal has claimed that he intends to remain at the Allianz Arena for the rest of the campaign, but that is unlikely to prevent clubs from registering an interest ahead of the summer.
According to Chilean journalist Maks Cardenas, United are acting as competition for the 30-year-old's signature, with the player having just 18 months remaining on his contract.
Vidal could cost in the region of £37.5m, but both clubs are seemingly prepared to pay the fee in order to bring in Vidal on what would probably be a three or four-year contract.
During his time at Bayern, Vidal has scored 21 goals in 114 appearances in all competitions.
