Manchester United have reportedly decided not to bid for Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte this summer.
It is believed that United boss Louis van Gaal had the centre-back watched during Bilbao's 1-1 draw with Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup last night.
However, with Bilbao not prepared to accept anything less than the 21-year-old's £36.5m release clause, the Red Devils have no intention of taking their interest any further, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The report adds that United may instead pursue the Frenchman at the end of the ongoing 2015-16 campaign.
