Manchester United are reportedly continuing to work on a new contract for Bruno Fernandes, with the Red Devils determined to sign the Portugal international to a new deal.
The 26-year-old has been an inspirational signing for the Red Devils, scoring 43 times and registering 25 assists in 81 appearances for the club since arriving from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020.
Fernandes netted three times in Man United's 5-1 win over Leeds United last weekend, meanwhile, as he played a leading role in his side's 2021-22 Premier League opener.
The Portuguese still has four years left to run on his current deal, but the 20-time English champions are thought to be keen to hand him a pay rise to reflect his importance to the team.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Man United have been working on a proposed new deal since July, and Fernandes is 'happy to stay' at Old Trafford.
The attacker ended the 2020-21 season with 28 goals and 17 assists in 58 appearances at club level, including 18 goals and 11 assists in 37 Premier League outings.
