A report claims that Leicester City centre-back Harry Maguire is a £65m transfer target for Manchester United following his impressive World Cup campaign.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho reportedly has Harry Maguire in his sights and is willing to pay £65m to sign the Leicester City defender.

The Red Devils are said to be in the market for another centre-back as doubts remain over the quality of fellow Englishmen Chris Smalling and Phil Jones.

Maguire performed well for Leicester in his maiden campaign at the King Power Stadium, featuring in every minute of their Premier League season, before starring for England at the World Cup this summer.

According to The Sun, Mourinho wants to sign the 25-year-old to strengthen his backline, despite his £17m transfer fee from 12 months ago nearly quadrupling.

Leicester will offer Maguire a new £75,000-a-week contract in response, however, which they hope will be enough to persuade him to stay.
