Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a move for Hellas Verona centre-back Marash Kumbulla.
The Red Devils have been hit with the news that Harry Maguire is facing a spell on the sidelines with a hip problem, leaving head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer short of options at the back.
Axel Tuanzebe, Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo are also all currently on the treatment table, meaning that Phil Jones and Victor Lindelof are the team's only fit senior centre-backs.
United are thought to be considering a loan move for a defender during the January transfer window, and according to TuttoMercatoWeb, the English giants are interested in a deal for Kumbulla.
The 19-year-old, who made his first-team debut in August 2018, has appeared on 11 occasions in Serie A during the 2019-20 campaign, contributing one goal in the process.
United will allegedly face competition for the youngster, though, with RB Leipzig, Atalanta BC, Inter Milan and Napoli also credited with an interest.
Kumbulla, who has a contract with his current club until the summer of 2022, was born in Italy but plays his international football for Albania.
