Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Angel di Maria from Real Madrid for a British record transfer fee.
The Argentine international has been heavily linked with the former Premier League champions for a number of weeks, but has now completed his move to Old Trafford after passing a medical earlier today.
The 26-year-old has signed a five-year deal with United, keeping him at the club until 2019.
The £59.7m fee eclipses the previous British transfer record, which was set when Fernando Torres joined Chelsea from Liverpool for £50m in 2011.
United announced the deal on their official Twitter page less than an hour before their League Cup encounter with MK Dons this evening.

The Red Devils have struggled so far in the Premier League this season, losing 2-1 to Swansea City on the opening day before being held to a 1-1 draw with Sunderland last weekend.
