Jose Mourinho: 'Fernando Torres is staying'

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho insists that Fernando Torres will not be sold this summer as he needs three strikers in his squad to compete in all competitions.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has insisted that Fernando Torres will not be sold this summer.

The Spaniard is currently third choice at Stamford Bridge behind Didier Drogba and Diego Costa, but the Portuguese coach has stressed that he needs three strikers in his squad.

Speaking to reporters after watching his side beat Leicester City 2-0 on Saturday, Mourinho stated that Torres would be staying put.

He said: "Will Torres leave? No. I want three strikers in the team and I can't do the season without three.

"He has to score more goals than the first [striker to get into the team]."

Torres moved from Liverpool for a British-record £50m fee back January 2011.
