Manchester United's new midfielder Shinji Kagawa has revealed that he turned down a host of offers to complete his transfer to the Reds.
The 23-year-old agreed a £17m move from Borussia Dortmund this summer, and he has insisted that he cannot wait for the "challenge".
"There were talks with other clubs. But United were the first to make me a formal offer and the more I talked to them, the more I felt Manchester was the place for me," he told the Manchester Evening News.
"Now that the opportunity to join a big team like United has come, of course I had some worries about the type and level of the players and the style of football.
"I eventually took many things into consideration and I asked my heart and, in the end, I found a strong desire to challenge myself."
Kagawa scored 17 goals for Dortmund last season.
