Juan Mata will leave Manchester United on a free transfer at the end of June, according to a report.

Juan Mata will reportedly leave Manchester United on a free transfer at the end of June.

The 33-year-old has made 277 appearances for the Red Devils since arriving from Chelsea in the middle of the 2013-14 campaign, contributing 51 goals and 47 assists in the process.

Mata has only made four appearances for Man United during the 2021-22 season, though, featuring twice in the Champions League, once in the EFL Cup and once in the FA Cup.

The Spaniard's contract with the 20-time English champions is set to expire at the end of June, and according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, he will be leaving Old Trafford on a free transfer.

Mata, who has been linked with a return to La Liga, has not played a single minute of Premier League football this season, with a number of players ahead of him in the pecking order at the club.

Paul Pogba is another Man United player who could leave on a free transfer this summer, but the France international is allegedly yet to make a decision on his future.
