Chelsea are reportedly considering a move to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes on an emergency loan.
The Premier League champions are currently without Belgian international Thibaut Courtois, who has been ruled out for the foreseeable future following knee surgery last week, leaving Asmir Begovic and youngster Jamal Blackman as the club's available goalkeepers.
Valdes - who joined United on a free transfer in January - has not featured for Louis van Gaal's team since their goalless draw with Hull City on May 24, and the former Barcelona man has been pushed down the pecking order by recent arrival Sergio Romero.
According to the Daily Star, Chelsea head coach Jose Mourinho is worried about the possibility of losing Begovic through injury or suspension, and is keen to sign Valdes as cover for the Bosnian keeper.
Valdes has made 20 international appearances for Spain.
