Chelsea are reportedly lining up a final offer for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.
The Blues have had two offers for the England international already rejected this summer, but are ready to return with a £40m bid, according to the Sunday People.
Rooney is believed to be unhappy at Old Trafford after manager David Moyes told the media that striker Robin van Persie will be preferred ahead of the former Everton teenager upfront this season.
A recent report claimed that the Blues had set United a deadline of August 26 for a response to their interest.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich will reportedly sanction a four-year contract for the 27-year-old worth £300,000 per week.
