Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly among the clubs who are monitoring the development of Reims striker Hugo Ekitike.
On transfer deadline day, it appeared that Newcastle United were going to win the race for the prospect, only for a deal not to materialise during the closing hours of the January window.
That has inevitably given a wide array of clubs a chance to get involved in the race for Ekitike, who has nine goals and two assists from his 19 Ligue 1 appearances this season.
According to 90 min, Chelsea and United were in attendance to watch the 19-year-old impress against Bordeaux at the weekend.
The report claims that more than 12 clubs made the trip to France for that game, with Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain also represented in the stands.
While Ekitike still has two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract, Reims will naturally be tempted to cash in on the player during the summer transfer window.
