Bournemouth reportedly turn down an approach for Dominic Solanke from fellow Premier League club West Ham United.

Bournemouth have reportedly rejected an approach from West Ham United for striker Dominic Solanke.

With the Premier League season set to kick off this weekend, the Hammers are looking to make an impression in the transfer market.

They have seen Declan Rice leave for Arsenal in a £105m deal this summer, but are yet to make any signings of their own.

West Ham have launched a double swoop for Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay, tabling separate bids for the Manchester United pair.

They have submitted an improved £30m offer for Maguire, while they have seen a £30m bid rejected for his Man United teammate McTominay.

The Hammers are also keen to bolster their forward options after Gianluca Scamacca completed his move to Serie A side Atalanta BC.

They have seemingly identified Solanke as an option, but according to the Daily Echo, Bournemouth have knocked back an approach from the Hammers.

The report indicates that West Ham made contact with the Cherries last month to enquire about Solanke's availability.

In a separate update, Football Insider reveals that there is a belief that the two clubs will be unable to reach an agreement over a fee.

The South-coast club are in a strong negotiating position, with the striker under contract until the summer of 2026.

Since joining the Cherries from Liverpool in 2019, Solanke has scored 56 goals and provided 27 assists in 174 competitive appearances.

The 25-year-old did not feature in Bournemouth's final pre-season friendly against Ligue 1 side Lorient on Sunday.

Speaking after the game, Andoni Iraola told the Daily Echo: "We decided not to put Dom on, even if he was on the bench. Because if you feel anything that is not 100%, it was not the moment to take risks."

Iraola will be hoping that Solanke is fully fit for Saturday's season opener against West Ham United at the Vitality Stadium.
