Bayern Munich are reportedly desperate to beat Manchester United and Liverpool to the signature of RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano.
With David Alaba seemingly destined to join Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer, Bayern are understood to have identified Upamecano as an ideal replacement for the Austrian.
Upamecano reportedly has a €42m (£37m) buyout clause included in his Leipzig contract, with Liverpool and Man United expected to be in the running for his services this summer.
However, German outlet Bild claims that Bayern will try to drive the price down, but they will happily pay the full £37m if other clubs look to steal a march on them.
The report adds that the Bundesliga champions have asked Upamecano's agents to let them know if another party triggers his release clause, and Liverpool are expected to provide stiff competition as they prioritise signings in the summer.
The 22-year-old has already made 22 appearances across all competitions for Leipzig this term, scoring a solitary goal in the Bundesliga.
