Barcelona chief denies Ansu Fati to Manchester United speculation

Barcelona director Xavier Vilajoana denies that Manchester United-linked Ansu Fati could leave the club this summer.

Barcelona director Xavier Vilajoana has denied suggestions that Ansu Fati could leave the club during this summer's transfer window.

The 17-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Camp Nou, scoring five times and registering one assist in 24 appearances in all competitions.

Manchester United are thought to be admirers of the teenager and are allegedly prepared to spend big to bring the attacker to Old Trafford ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

However, according to Vilajoana, the Spanish champions are not prepared to discuss an exit for the Spain Under-21 international, whose current deal is due to run until June 2022.

"For us, there's no story with Ansu, we have never spoken about selling him. We won't use players from the academy to make cash. In principle, we have no intention of selling the players we believe will make the first team," Vilajoana told Sport.

Fati has scored four times and registered one assist in 16 La Liga appearances this season.
