Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has handed Wayne Rooney the captain's armband for his first game in charge at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are looking to maintain a five-game winning streak in pre-season when they take on Valencia tonight in their final run-out before the Premier League campaign gets underway.
Rooney is joined by Javier Hernandez in attack, while Van Gaal has continued with his 3-5-2 formation, meaning that Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Tyler Blackett begin at the back for United.
Ander Herrera starts at the Theatre of Dreams for the first time, although fellow summer recruit Luke Shaw misses out on the squad.
