Sports Mole's Premier League Team of the Week

All eyes were on Old Trafford this weekend as Sir Alex Ferguson took charge of Manchester United for the final time at the Theatre of Dreams following his announcement that he would be retiring at the end of the season.

The tenacious Scot was not let down by his players as United celebrated lifting the Premier League trophy for the 13th time by beating Swansea City 2-1.

The man who will replace Ferguson, David Moyes, was given an equally-fitting farewell at Goodison Park as Everton defeated West Ham United 2-0.

Elsewhere, Chelsea secured themselves Champions League football for next season as Frank Lampard scored twice to become the club's all-time leading goalscorer with 203 goals in their win at Aston Villa.

Tottenham Hotspur kept their hopes of finishing in the top four alive with a late win at Stoke City, while it was the Daniel Sturridge show at Craven Cottage as Liverpool saw off Fulham.

Newcastle United sealed their top-flight status for another year with a victory at Queens Park Rangers, as did Norwich City thanks to their emphatic triumph over West Bromwich Albion.

Tim Howard (Everton)
The American helped give manager Moyes a fine sending-off at Goodison Park on Sunday by keeping a clean sheet in the Toffees' win over West Ham United.

Phil Jones (Man Utd)
There are fewer more versatile players in the Premier League right now and Jones showed again in United's victory over Swansea how important he will be to their cause next season.
Michael Dawson (Spurs)
Dawson had to be at his robust best at Stoke City on Sunday and he duly was as Spurs came away from the Britannia Stadium with all three points in their quest for Champions League football.
Rio Ferdinand (Man Utd)
The 34-year-old bagged his first goal in five years to earn United their victory against Swansea on Sunday, and what a hit it was as he nearly tore the net from its foundations three minutes from time.
Danny Rose (Sunderland)
The youngster has enjoyed a stellar season for Sunderland and he gave a great display once more as the Black Cats secured what could be an important point at home to Southampton.

Kevin Mirallas (Everton)
Fewer signings have had as big an impact at Goodison Park in recent years than Mirallas. The Belgian was almost impossible to stop on Sunday as his two goals helped Everton see off West Ham.
Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool)
The Brazilian looks to be fitting in brilliantly for the Reds and he was at his majestic best yet again in their victory at Fulham.
Frank Lampard (Chelsea)
What a weekend it was for the England international as he scored twice in Chelsea's win at Aston Villa to become the club's all-time leading goalscorer with 203 goals! No-one deserves it more than Lampard, who has been a model of consistency for the Blues since he joined them in 2001.
Clint Dempsey (Spurs)
The American proved his worth in midfield on Sunday as Spurs came from behind to beat Stoke. He was rewarded for his tireless display with a well-taken goal to get his side level.

Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool)
The England international was in ruthless form at Craven Cottage as his hat-trick took him to 11 goals in 15 games for the Merseysiders.
Robin van Persie (Man Utd)
United's leading goalscorer may not have found the net against Swansea on Sunday, but he was always at the centre of the home side's attacks as they gave Ferguson a win in his final game at Old Trafford.
