Ashley Young heaps praise on David de Gea following win over Newcastle United

Manchester United winger Ashley Young praises teammate David de Gea following his performance in the team's 1-0 victory over Newcastle United.

Manchester United winger Ashley Young has praised the efforts of goalkeeper David de Gea following the team's last-gasp victory over Newcastle United in the Premier League.

Young grabbed a last-minute winner at St James' Park after De Gea had pulled off two important saves earlier in the game to help Louis van Gaal's side to three points on the road.

"David De Gea was magnificent again tonight. It was a hard-fought win. We knew we needed three points and got our just rewards," Young told BT Sport.

"We heard of results, others winning around us so it was vitally important to get a win here. It was great work by Wazza (Wayne Rooney), the ball fell to my feet and I put it away.

"People are always going to question the biggest club in the world. We concentrate on ourselves, listen to the manager and coaching staff and don't listen to anyone else."

United currently hold fourth spot in the Premier League standings.
