Manchester United have extended their record as the most successful English side in domestic competition by clinching their 20th league title.
United secured this season's crown, their 13th since the introduction of Premier League in 1992, with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Aston Villa this evening.
The title lifts them further ahead of nearest rivals Liverpool, who have 18 league titles to their name, the last of which came in 1990.
This season's success also sees them reclaim the Premier League trophy off local rivals Manchester City, who pipped the Red Devils to last term's title in the final minutes of the campaign.
United, who are now 16 points clear of City, could go on to set a league record for total number of points won with 96 if they win all of their remaining four games, overtaking Chelsea's record of 95 from 2004-05.
