Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp is reportedly ready to smash the club's transfer record to land Lille starlet Eden Hazard, according to The Mirror.
The Belgian international has been courted by a number of England's top clubs, including Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal.
However, the 19-year-old, who helped Les Dogues win the French league title last season, is now being linked with a £35m move to White Hart Lane.
"He's a player that I've watched an awful lot and he's a real talent," said Redknapp. "If you want to be a top four team you have to do things like this.
"If you want to compete with Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and the two Manchester clubs, you have to buy top players.
"But only the chairman would know where we are in terms of actually getting the player."
Hazard, who is also attracting interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona, joined Lille as a youth team player in 2005.
