Scholes: 'Pogba comments indefensible'

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes claims that the comments made by Paul Pogba following his side's defeat to Brighton are indefensible.

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has slammed the comments made by Paul Pogba following the team's 3-2 defeat at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.

Pogba admitted after the surprise defeat that he and his teammates went into the match with the wrong attitude, and were subsequently beaten in their opening away game of the new season.

Scholes was left amazed by the World Cup winner's admission, insisting that only the player is to blame if his attitude was part of the reason for his side's lacklustre performance.

"I hope that is lost in translation. There is no defence for that comment, there is no defence for it," Scholes is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

"You say it to yourself, don't you? You're constantly saying to yourself: 'Attitude right, make sure it's right'. You don't need other people to tell you. You don't need a manager to tell you that or your teammates."

Scholes also criticised the French international's "inconsistent" displays for the club.
