Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has revealed that his first impression of Barcelona attacker Lionel Messi was that the Argentine "seemed very small".

Pogba faced Messi in the 2015 Champions League final, with the latter helping Barcelona land the trophy courtesy of a 3-1 success over Pogba's Juventus side.

The Frenchman has said that Messi "seemed very small", but it did not take long for the now-United midfielder to realise that the Argentina international was capable of 'doing things that no-one else does'.

"The first time I was with Messi was in the Champions League final, and I remember that it he seemed very small to me," Pogba told TyC Sports. "Messi and football are two things that go together, I admire watching him. He does things that no-one else does.

"He has a stature that no-one else has. He's something special, everything about him is special. He's a player who has football inside of him and feels it. He's incredible."

Pogba was linked with a move to Barcelona before re-joining United in the summer of 2016.
