Michael Owen ready to play a part

Michael Owen claims that he will have a part to play for Manchester United this season.

Manchester United forward Michael Owen believes that he can play a major part in the club's title run-in.

The 32-year-old has not played since the beginning of November after suffering a thigh injury, but he is intent on returning to fitness.

"What I have got to do now is focus on trying to get back fit and sharp and you never know what is going to happen. If I can get myself fit and available, that has got to be my aim just in case I am required," Owen told Sky Sports News.

Owen has scored 17 goals in 52 games for United.
