Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho hails Paul Pogba's performance in last night's 3-0 win over Stoke City.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that Paul Pogba is much 'happier' now that he is playing in a system that allows him more freedom.

The midfielder was instrumental in Monday night's 3-0 victory over Stoke City at Old Trafford as he bagged two assists.

The France international has had his critics once again this season, but the £89m man has been marred by injuries and suspension.

"[Pogba] was moving the ball fantastically well, with long passes changing the direction and creating problems for the opponent," the Daily Mail quotes Mourinho as saying.

"He had an assist and if he had scored the free-kick with the last shot of the game, it would be really a reward for him. I think he is happy with the way the team is playing and he's happy because the team is changing the profile and the profile is going more in his direction."

United currently sit second in the Premier League table, 12 points adrift of leaders Manchester City.
