Steve McClaren is reportedly heading back to Manchester United as an assistant to new head coach Erik ten Hag.
The Red Devils confirmed the appointment of Ten Hag on Thursday, with the Dutchman penning a contract at Old Trafford until June 2025, with the option of a further year.
According to The Telegraph, Mitchell Van der Gaag - Ten Hag's current assistant at Ajax - is set to move to Manchester this summer to continue his relationship with the 52-year-old.
The report claims that McClaren is also preparing to head back to the 20-time English champions, with the Englishman keen to work with Ten Hag once again.
The pair were together at FC Twente in 2008, while McClaren was assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford between 1999 and 2001 before leaving to take charge of Middlesbrough.
The 60-year-old was also the head coach of the English national team between 2006 and 2007, while he has recently had spells at Derby County, Newcastle United and Queens Park Rangers.
