Massimiliano Allegri is reportedly in pole position to become Manchester United's new head coach.
The 52-year-old left Juventus at the end of the 2018-19 campaign following a hugely successful spell during which he delivered five Serie A titles in addition to reaching two Champions League finals.
Allegri is widely expected to return to management for the 2020-21 season, and according to Sport Mediaset, the Italian could be heading for Old Trafford as a replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
United's former centre-forward remains in charge of the Red Devils but failure to secure a European finish in the Premier League this season could lead to the Norwegian being sacked.
The 20-time English champions have dropped to ninth position in the Premier League table following a run of just one win from their last five league matches.
Allegri, who is also thought to be interesting Paris Saint-Germain, has allegedly already agreed to take charge of an English club this summer.
